Tonkin and Holland Lock In to Monster Bash, Lobdell, Scutt, Smith and Mills Win
CENTER LISLE, NY – Night One of the Monster Bash on the Mountain at the Thunder Mountain Speedway had close to 100 cars participate.
Locking into the redraw for the Stafursky Paving Modifieds were Brett Tonkin and Justin Holland. Jordan Millard and Rich Talada are locked into the redraw for the Speedsport 1 Sportsman. Millard set fast time in both sessions.
Saturday afternoon, November 2nd, will find the Stafursky Paving Modifieds, SPEED SPORT 1 Sportsman, Eagle Ridge Constructions 600cc Mods, and a Vintage Modified Open take place. Racing starts at 2:00 PM. Pit gates open at 10:00, spectator gates at 11:00, and hot laps start at 1:00 PM.
If you can’t be at Monster Bash on the Mountain in person, Speedsport1 will be going live from 2:00 to 3:00 (check your streaming devices) with qualifying action, and then the remainder of the show will be available via pay per view on Dirt Track Digest TV (www.dirttrackdigest.tv).

Just missing and earning $200 from 71 Speed and Design was Will Shields. Shields was the second fastest Stafursky Paving Modified in Session one and Session two. In the SPEED SPORT 1Sportsman, earning the $200 for “Just Missed” from 71 Speed and Design was Hunter Lapp, who just like Shields “Just Missed” in both sessions.
Ali Scutt came from the third position to win the 20-lap 600cc Modifieds. Second was Doug Windhausen in a photo finish with Owen Mossow. Justin LaDue was fourth, with Anthony Desimone rounding out the top five. Winning the first of the Eagle Ridge Constructions 600cc Modified heats was Windhausen; Mossow claimed the second, with Scutt winning the final heat.
Claiming the win in the 25-lap Graydon Excavating Factory Stock feature in a wire-to-wire fashion was pole starter Jerry Lobdell Jr. Second went to Jason Rhodes, Brandon Barron claimed third, Eric Boynton fourth, and Eric Beach rounded out the top five. Factory Stock heats were won by Lobdell, Josh Towner, and Gene Sharpsteen.
Winning the non-stop 20-lap 600cc Micro Sprint feature was Johnny Smith. Mike Smith was second, and Billy Applebee was third. Tommy Paige finished in fourth, with Shannon Pitcher rounding out the top five. The two 600cc Sprints were claimed by J. Smith and Applebee.
Four Cylinder 20-Lap feature was won by Collin Mills. Kenny Underwood was second, followed by Rich Wagner, Tanner Milliron, and Michael Brown, who rounded out the top five. Claiming the dual Four Cylinder heats, were Mike Ferris and Mills.

Saturday afternoon, the Monster Bash on the Mountain will find the Stafursky Paving Modifieds and Sportsman taking center stage. With a 40-lap feature for Modifieds paying $4,000 to win and a minimum of $350 to start. The SpeedSport1 Sportsman will race in a 30-lap contest, paying $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start. The 600cc Modifieds are back to race for a $1,500 win in a 40-lap affair thanks to Eagle Ridge Construction. Rounding out the card will be the Vintage Modified Open, featuring twin twenties for the four divisions of vintage cars. Each division of Vintage Modifieds will be racing for a Monster Bash on the Mountain trophy.
Those participating in the Vintage Modified Open will need to message the Thunder Mountain Facebook page to preregister for the event and the two complimentary pit passes that will be provided for supporting it.

Saturday’s racing action is $25 for the stands; seniors and students are $22 and $45 for the pits.
Weekly Thunder Mountain Speedway rules will be followed by all divisions with the utilization of Hoosier Racing Tires.
