More Sponsors, Last Call Modified Race: $75 Tow Money, Starting Times for the Monster Bash on the Mountain Announced

CENTER LISLE, NY – Support continues to grow for the Monster Mash on the Mountain at Thunder Mountain Speedway with the addition of more sponsors for the Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2 events.

Bill Brown and Company, Hamilton, N.J., along with Bicknell Race Products, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, have joined the Monster Mash on the Mountain as sponsors for the Stafursky Paving Modified 10 lap heat races and 8 lap Sportsman Heat races. The Bill Brown and Company Modified Heats and the Bicknell Race Product Sportsman Heats will pay $50 to win. In addition, each heat race winner receives a $50 ERK Steering Product certificate. DIG Race Products, Cortland, N.Y., will be presenting $50 product certificates to select drivers that do not qualify in the Modified and Sportsman division.

Thanks to the generosity of the sponsors that have joined the Monster Bash on the Mountain, the “Last Call Modified Race” has been added. This race will be run after the 12-lap Modified Consi and will be for all drivers that have not qualified. The winner of the 10-lap race will have the option of being the 25th starter or taking home $400. The driver that finishes second in the Last Call Modified Race will take home a right rear Hoosier tire thanks to Thunder Mountain Speedway. All other drivers will get $75 in cash, and spots three through 12 will receive a $50 product certificate from DIG Race Products.

For the Sportsman division, the first driver not to qualify will receive a right rear Hooser tire courtesy of Thunder Mountain Speedway. Drivers finishing in spots 6 through 15th will earn a $50 DIG Race Products certificate.

Friday evening’s timed hot laps will feature the 71 Speed and Design Just Missed Award. 71 Speed and Design, located in Candor, N.Y., will reward $100 to the driver that just misses setting fast time in each timed hot lap session for the Modifieds and Sportsman. Should the same driver be unfortunate to have been second fastest in both sessions, it will go the third fastest in the second session. $100 will be rewarded to a random Modified or Sportsman competitor that times on Friday that didn’t set fast time or just missed.

Drivers in all classes are asked to send a message via the Thunder Mountain Speedway Facebook or via email to Mike Mallett at mikemallett@dirttrackdigest.com of their intent to participate in the Monster Bash on the Mountain. For those that have preregistered by midnight on Sunday 10/27, one driver from each division will win one free pit pass for the event if they’ve made the intent known that they will be competing.

Those participating in the Vintage Modified Open will need to message the Thunder Mountain Facebook page to preregister for the event and the two complimentary pit passes that will be provided for supporting the event.

Racing will open on Friday evening with 20-lap features for the 600cc Modifieds, 600cc Sprints, and 4-Cylinders.  The Graydon Excavation Factory Stocks will race 25 laps for $1,000 to win and $500 for second place. The Modified and Sportsman cars will participate in practice and two sessions of timed hot laps to lock the fastest driver of each session into the Saturday redraw. Racing will start at 7:00 PM on Friday. Pit Gates will open at 4:00 PM. Grandstands open at 5:00 PM, and Hot Laps start at 6:15 PM.

At the conclusion of Friday’s racing, there will be a bonfire and music to celebrate the winners of the preliminary night features of the Monster Bash on the Mountain.

Day two of the Monster Bash on the Mountain will find the Stafursky Paving Modifieds and Sportsman taking center stage. With a 40-lap feature for Modifieds paying $4,000 to win and a minimum of $350 to start. The Sportsman will race in a 30-lap contest, paying $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start. The 600cc Modifieds will be back to race for a $1,000 win in a 25-lap affair. Rounding out the card will be the Vintage Modified Open, featuring twin twenties for the four divisions of vintage cars. Each division of Vintage Modifieds will be racing for a Monster Bash on the Mountain trophy. The exciting action starts at 2:00 PM on Saturday. Pit gates will open at 10:00 AM, Grandstands opening at 11:00 AM, and Hot Laps starting at 1:00 PM.

Friday evening, November 1 it will be $15 for the stands. Seniors and Students are $13 and $40 for the pits, with Saturday’s racing, November 2 action being $25 for the stands. Seniors and Students are $22 and $45 for the pits.

Weekly Thunder Mountain Speedway rules will be followed by all divisions with the utilization of Hoosier Racing Tires.
