Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Driver Bayley Currey to visit Thunder Mountain
(Center Lisle, NY) Bayley Currey of Driftwood, TX is a 22-year-old race car driver living a dream. He competes for Rick Ware Racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. He earned a career best finish of 24th in the Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania on June 2, 2019.
On Saturday, August 3rd, Currey will step into a Sportsman Modified owned by Cody Jackson and his family to compete in an open-wheel dirt car for the first time at the famed Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, NY owned by The Spoonhower Family.
“I am extremely excited to try something new and I have been preparing by racing dirt on iRacing” said Currey. “I can’t wait to visit Thunder Mountain and I hope I can put on an exciting show for the fans.”
Currey will be appearing following the days events at Watkins Glen International and plans to arrive at the track by 8:00pm. He will be signing autographs and interacting with the fans before competing in the 20-lap Open Sportsman Feature Event.
Kyle Weatherman of Wentzville, MO, a part time competitor in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series will join Currey on the Mountain at that event. Weatherman recently competed in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan Speedway just a few short weeks ago.
Cole Walker of Dinwiddie, VA, a driver in the NASCAR Late Model Series at South Boston Speedway will be appearing at the fast 3/8 clay oval on August 3rd. He will have merchandise and hero cards for fans and will do a scheduled autograph session that night.
The evenings racing activities will be jam packed with excitement. A Complete Show for the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, Open Sportsman, Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds, Rookie Sportsman, 600cc Modifieds, 4 Cylinders and the Dirt Nostalgia Tour.
