Monster Bash on the Mountain – Three Weeks Away

CENTER LISLE, NY – As the calendar turns to October, plans for the 3rd Annual Monster Bash on the Mountain are in full swing as teams get ready to head to the track on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st.

Again in 2026 the Spoonhower Family and Mike Mallett will be presenting a two-day racing extravaganza at the 3/8th mile Center Lisle facility.

Friday evening four divisions will take to the track for qualifying races and feature action: Making their Friday evening debut at the Monster Bash on the Mountain will be the NY Penn IMCA Modified series in the 4th annual Billy Ward Memorial 25-lap contest.  The Hustling the Highway series for 600cc Modified will conclude their season with a $2,000 to win 40-lap feature and crown a series champion.   In addition, the 600cc Winged Sprints and Factory Stocks will compete in 20 lap feature events.  Modifieds and Sportsman drivers will have the opportunity for timed hot laps, with the fastest competitor in each of the two sessions being run advancing right to the feature event redraw.

Saturday afternoon’s program will feature the 40-lap $4,000 to win Stafursky Paving Modified Feature.  The Speedsport 1 Modifieds will race in a $2,000 to win 30-lap feature.  The NY Penn IMCA Modifieds will compete in the 2nd annual 30-lap Ed and Jan Billings Classic rewarding the winner with $3,116.  The 600cc Modifieds will compete in a 20-lap feature.  All divisions will race in qualifying heats and consolations if necessary, with the IMCA modifieds participating in a six-lap dash. Vintage Modifieds and Sportsman and Antiques and Mystique will compete in twin 20-lap features for the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series.

Last year, Johnstown, NY’s Rocky Warner took home the top prize, despite Mother Nature forcing the originally scheduled two-day show to be condensed into a single day, attracting over 190 cars to Thunder Mountain Speedway.

All divisions will race on Hoosier tires following the weekly Thunder Mountain rules, the exception being the Factory Stocks.  Factory Stocks will race on DOT tires and use home track rules.

Racing on Friday will start at 7:00PM and on Saturday at 2:00PM.

Thunder Mountain Speedway has free camping available, with no electric or water.
