DARREN SMITH WHEELS TO THE WIN AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN
It was a packed house Saturday on the mountain. Thank you to all the fans and drivers who made the trek. We were able to beat the weather and put in an extended program which included the Dirt Nostalgia Tour and a non-winners race for the B Walt’s Car Care 600cc Modifieds sponsored by Zimmer and Son Logging and Mohawk Detailing. The track provided multi-lane, three and four wide racing for every class.
Darren Smith put on an outstanding show in his JSR sponsored rocket, wheeling from mid pack to take the win in the DTD TV Modifieds. Bailey Boyd had a very impressive run after overcoming his struggles from last season and a grabbed a strong second-place finish. The consistent and smooth Alan Barker took home third while invader Billy VanInwegen shuffled his way from the back of the pack to grab a solid fourth place finish. Nick Nye rounded out the top five with a strong run.

The Pop’s Automotive Factory Stock division win went the young Dominic Albanese, his first win of the season on the mountain. Mike Morse, Jason Beebe, Hayden Albanese, Dusty Decker followed to complete the top five. The rookies made quick work of their 12-lap feature.
