Weather Forces Postponement of Saturday’s Jan Corcoran Memorial at Thunder Mountain Speedway

CENTER LISLE, NY – Saturday’s portion of the Jan Corcoran Memorial, presented by Dot Foods, at Thunder Mountain Speedway has been postponed due to weather. With rain hitting the speedway this morning and forecasts calling for storms throughout the area later today, officials made the decision to delay the event.

A new date is already in the works, and track officials will announce details as soon as they are confirmed.

Friday night’s action, however, delivered on all fronts. In the Modified division, Brett Tonkin and Tyler Johnston secured sixth and fourth starting spots, respectively. Over in the DIRTcar Sportsman ranks, Grant Hilfiger and TJ Frost earned their way into the $3,200-to-win, 32-lap feature.

Other highlights included Ali Scutt taking the win in the 600cc Modifieds, Doug Stack Jr. claiming victory in the Factory Stocks, and Zach Bobbett putting in a dominant performance in the 600cc Sprint feature.

When the Jan Corcoran Memorial resumes, fans can look forward to a full program featuring Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, 600cc Modifieds, and IMCA Modifieds.

Contingency sponsors for the Jan Corcoran Memorial include Beyea Custom Headers, DIG Race Products, Fastline Performance, Henry’s Headers & Exhaust, Hoosier Racing Tire, Integra Racing Shocks, Keizer Wheels, Velocita USA, and VP Racing Fuels.

Stay tuned to the Thunder Mountain Speedway Facebook page for the latest updates on the rescheduled date.

The team at Thunder Mountain Speedway extends a sincere thank you to all the drivers, crews, and fans who came out this weekend. While the weather cut things short, we’re looking forward to getting back on track soon.

An open practice session is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, allowing teams to fine-tune their setups ahead of the season opener.

Looking ahead, the 2025 regular season kicks off on Saturday, May 3 with the prestigious Roy Shields Memorial for the Modifieds. Also on the card are the DIRTcar Sportsman, IMCA Modifieds, Factory Stocks, 600cc Sprints, and the 600cc Modifieds Hustling the Highway Series.
