Smith Wins DTD TV Modifieds, Talada, Lamphere, Lobdell, Mossow, and Bobbett also Finish Night in Victory Lane

CENTER LISLE, NY – Matt Smith finally broke through on Saturday night, scoring his first Dirt Track Digest TV Modified feature win of 2025 at Thunder Mountain Speedway. He was joined in Victory Lane by Rich Talada in the DIRTcar Sportsman, Keith Lamphere in the IMCA Modifieds, Jerry Lobdell Jr. in the Factory Stocks, Owen Mossow in the 600cc Modifieds, and Zach Bobbett, who was once again victorious in the 600 Sprints.

Jeff Sheely and Matt Latwinski led the field to the green in the 35-lap Dirt Track Digest TV Modified feature. Sheely got the jump and led the opening eight laps before a caution was displayed for Mike Austin, who had stopped on track with a broken front end.

On the restart, Smith dove to the bottom of the track, charging from third to first to take command on lap nine. From there, he maintained a strong pace, while 10th-starting Tommy Collins began working his way toward the front.

Smith continued to set a torrid pace in his Smith Site Development No. 28, staying out front as Collins gained ground by moving to the top of the speedway.

With just two laps to go, Collins caught Smith. While Smith hugged the bottom, Collins attacked the cushion, making it a close finish. In the end, Smith held on to claim his first victory of the season. Collins finished second, followed by 14th-starting Brett Tonkin, who snuck into third on the final lap. Nick Nye and Darren Smith rounded out the top five.

Rich Talada claimed the DIRTcar Sportsman 25-lap feature after a hard-fought battle at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Talada, who started sixth, grabbed the lead on lap three and looked strong out front until Jordan Millard slipped by with eight laps remaining. Undeterred, Talada quickly regrouped and reclaimed the top spot just one lap later, holding off Millard and the rest of the field to take the win. Millard finished second, followed by Matt Brewer, who charged from 12th to finish third, with Grant Hilfiger and Cody Jackson completing the top five.

Keith Lamphere powered his way to this third victory in the 25-lap IMCA Modified feature after charging from the 10th starting spot. Lamphere methodically worked his way through the field and took the lead on lap 11, never looking back as he cruised to the win. Pole-sitter Jacob McConnell held on for second, while Jake Maynard advanced from ninth to finish third. James Lamphere and Jakub Ingham were the rest of the top five.

Jerry Lobdell Jr. won the 20-lap Factory Stock feature for his seventh win of 2025 at Thunder Mountain after taking the lead from Lukas Mills on lap three and never looking back. Starting fifth, Lobdell quickly worked his way to the front and held off the field for the remainder of the race to secure the win. Mills, who led the opening laps from the pole, settled for second, followed by Rich Sharpsteen, Harold Lobdell Jr., and Buck Mills III.

Owen Mossow pulled off a dramatic last-lap pass to win the 25-lap 600cc Modified feature after starting seventh for his second win of the year. Mossow chased down Logan Ladue, who had led most of the race, and made the decisive move on the final circuit to steal the victory. Ladue settled for second, while Tyler Talada charged from 12th to finish third. Doug Windhausen made a strong run from 15th to take fourth, with Ali Scutt completing the top five.

Zach Bobbett continued his winning ways in the 600 Sprints, capturing the 20-lap feature after taking the lead on lap 10. Starting sixth, Bobbett methodically worked his way forward before making his move at the halfway mark, then pulled away to secure the victory. Mary Earley finished a strong second, with Cameron Searls charging from eighth to third. Thomas Paige and Shannon Pitcher made up the remainder of the top five.
