Friday Cancelled – IMCA Modifieds and Factory Stocks Added to Saturday Program

CENTER LISLE, NY – Unfortunately, Mother Nature is planning a trick for everyone on Halloween Night. With a forecast for showers and cold, damp weather, a difficult decision has been made to cancel the Friday evening portion of the Monster Bash Weekend at Thunder Mountain Speedway.
“In the interest of the many teams and fans that are traveling a distance to get to Thunder Mountain Speedway, and for the comfort of the fans, competitors, and our valued employees, we made the decision to cancel Friday’s portion of Monster Bash Weekend,” said co-promoter Mike Mallett.
With the cancellation of the Friday program, the 30-lap Ed and Jan Billings Classic, presented by MJH Oil Field Services, will be moved to Saturday. The 600cc Modified race on Saturday will now be the Sam Upton Memorial 39-lap Hustle the Highway Series event. The Graydon Excavating Chad Sidoni Memorial Factory Stock has been added as well paying $1,500 to win.
Racing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1st, and will now feature the Stafursky Paving Modifieds in a 40-lap feature paying $4,000 to win and a minimum of $450 to start. The Speedsport1 Sportsman will compete in a 20-lap feature paying $2,000 to win and $225 to start. The 600cc Modifieds will race in the 39-lap Sam Upton Memorial Hustle the Highway Series, presented by Eagle Ridge Construction, paying $2,039 to win. The Mohawk Valley Vintage Modified Series will race in twin 20-lap events, while the NY Penn IMCA Modifieds will contest the 30-lap Ed and Jan Billings Classic, presented by MJH Oil Field Service, with a $3,000 prize to the winner. The Factory Stocks are racing on Saturday for $1,500 to win in the Chad Sindoni Memorial.
“With the rain comes a silver lining,” said promoter Mike Mallett. “Now on Saturday you will see the point races for the NY Penn IMCA Modified Series and the 600cc Hustle the Highway Modified Series, as well as the Chad Sindoni Memorial Factory Stocks to close in an action-packed program of racing Saturday afternoon.”
The Candy Crawl in the pits and the stands will take place from 12:15pm to 1pm. So wear those costumes as we’ll also have a costume contest at intermission.
The NY Penn IMCA Modifieds have a tight point race, with point leader Keith Lamphere only three points ahead of Earl Zimmer in second. Zimmer holds a five-point margin over third-place Jakub Ingham. Since there is a one-point difference per finishing position, the point race is tight going into the Ed and Jan Billings Classic.
In the Hustle the Highway 600cc Modified points, T.J. Smith holds a 16-point lead over second-place James Randall. Randall leads third-place Ali Scutt by 21 points. The race tightens with just three points separating Scutt and fourth-place Owen Morrow, who holds a single-point lead over Anthony Desimone. Currently sixth in points, Samuel Hubbard trails Desimone by six points. Third through sixth are separated by a total of eight points. For the Hustle the Highway Series, there is a four-point difference between finishing positions 1–3, a two-point difference between 3rd and 14th, and a single point from 14th to 26th.

The 2025 Monster Bash on the Mountain at Thunder Mountain Speedway is set to conclude the 2025 dirt racing season in New York State.
The 2024 version of the Monster Bash on the Mountain featured the highest car count in the Northeast that weekend in the Stafursky Paving Modifieds and Speedsport1 Sportsman divisions. Over 200 cars participated, and more than $40,000 was paid out in cash and contingencies in a fast-paced, well-run event over two days. Higher car counts and increased payouts are anticipated for the 2nd Annual Monster Bash on the Mountain event!
