Format Set for Thunder’s “Monster Bash on the Mountain”
CENTER LISLE, NY – With the Monster Bash on the Mountain fast approaching, weekend race format details are being released.
Friday evening in addition to the 25 lap $1,000 to win Graydon Excavation Factory Stock race and the always exciting 600cc Modifieds, 600cc Sprints and 4-Cylinders, there will be practice for the Modifieds and the Sportsman. The Modifieds and Sportsman will each run three practice sessions. The fastest driver from sessions two and three, will be guaranteed into the redraw for the 40 lap Stafursky Paving Modified feature and 30 lap Sportsman contest. In the event the same driver is the fastest in session two and three, the second quickest driver from the third session will enter the Saturday redraw. They will not have to race Saturday heat races.
Heat race lineups for all divisions participating in the Monster Bash on the Mountain weekend will be determined by pill draw. For the Modifieds and the Sportsman, the pill draw will feature a “Draw Redemption”. For $50.00 for the Modifieds and $25.00 for the Sportsman, the driver will be able to draw another pill for their heat race position if they are not satisfied with the number drawn. The second drawn position is where they will start the heat race. All money generated by Draw Redemption will be placed back into the purse for the respective divisions.
Drivers in all classes are asked to send a message via the Thunder Mountain Speedway Facebook, or via email at thundermtnspeedway@gmail.com or Mike Mallett at mikemallett@dirttrackdigest.com of their intent to participate in the Monster Bash on the Mountain. For those that have pre-registered by midnight on Sunday 10/27, one free pit pass will be drawn for a driver in each respective division.
Those participating in the Vintage Modified Open will need to message the Thunder Mountain Facebook page to preregister for the event and the two complimentary pit passes that will be provided for supporting the program.

Racing will open on Friday evening with 20-lap features for the 600cc Modifieds, 600cc Sprints, and 4-Cylinders. The Graydon Excavation Factory Stocks will race 25 laps for $1,000 to win. The Modified and Sportsman cars will participate in practice. Racing will start at 7:00 PM on Friday.
Day Two of the Monster Bash on the Mountain will find the Stafursky Paving Modifieds and Sportsman taking center stage. With a 40-lap feature for Modifieds paying $4,000 to win, $500 for 10th, and a minimum of $350 to start. The Sportsman will race in a 30-lap contest, paying $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start. The 600cc Modifieds will be back to race for a $1,000 win in a 25-lap affair. Rounding out the card will be the Vintage Modified Open featuring twin twenties for the four division of vintage cars. Each division of Vintage Modifieds will be racing for a Monster Bash on the Mountain trophy. The exciting action starts at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
At the conclusion of Friday’s racing, there will be a bonfire and music to celebrate the winners of the preliminary night features of the Monster Bash on the Mountain.
Friday evening it will be $15 for the stands. Seniors and Students are $13 and $40 for the pits, with Saturday’s racing action being $25 for the stands, Seniors and Students are $22 and $45 for the pits.

Weekly Thunder Mountain Speedway rules will be followed by all divisions with the utilization of Hoosier Racing Tires.
